Holidu acquires Gites.com to expand Dutch vacation rental presence

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Europe: Vacation rental platform Holidu has acquired Netherlands-based holiday rental portal Gites.com as it continues to expand its European footprint through acquisitions.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition is Holidu’s 14th to date and forms part of the company’s strategy of integrating established local holiday rental platforms into its technology ecosystem.

Founded in the Netherlands, Gites.com offers around 4,000 holiday rentals in France, serving primarily Dutch and domestic French travellers. Holidu said the Netherlands has become one of its fastest-growing source markets for bookings.

Johannes Siebers, co-founder and CEO of Holidu, said: “The European holiday rental market remains fragmented and has many local portals built on years of trust with their hosts and guests.

“Operating across many regions, our technology platform lets us build things a regional player never could. We want to deliver innovation, more bookings and less work for our hosts and guests.”

Marijn Bom, co-founder and CEO of Gites.com, said joining Holidu would provide hosts with greater reach while reducing administrative workload, without losing the personalised support they currently receive.

Holidu said it has developed an AI-supported integration process to bring acquired businesses onto its platform more efficiently. The company added that acquisitions have contributed almost one-third of its supply growth during 2026.

The latest transaction follows Holidu’s acquisition of German holiday rental platform BestFewo earlier this year, alongside a series of acquisitions completed throughout 2025, including Finca Mallorca and Cybevision.
