Austria / France: Short-term rental software-as-a-service [SaaS] startup Goliday has announced that it has launched in the UK and closed a pre-seed funding round.
Founded in 2020, Goliday is designed to make it easy for holiday rental owners to create their own booking website, ensuring they can drive direct bookings, build their own brand and become less dependent on platforms and their commissions / service fees. The startup wants to make rental websites easily accessible and provide everything needed to manage bookings efficiently.
Backed by a six-figure funding sum from the European Union [EU], Goliday recently closed a pre-seed funding round and is now in the middle of a seed investment round. The startup is currently being advised by Gerald Kollitsch, head of business development at Vienna-based advisory firm i5invest.
The company hopes to soon compete with behemoths such as Airbnb and Booking.com by creating a platform for owners to advertise their properties on. This includes launching its Goliday B2C platform later this year to serve as a holiday rental marketplace.
To date, Goliday has generated €9 million in booking volume for its clients across 5,500 websites.
It also became an official vacation rental partner with Google at the end of 2024, allowing it to drive additional direct bookings via its interface with Google Maps.
Looking ahead, the startup is aiming to accelerate its European and global expansion, including branching out into new markets such as Italy, Spain, Croatia and the United States.
