Lang & Schwander launch branded rental firm Wunderstay

Switzerland / US: Lang & Schwander Hotel Interiors, a Swiss-American firm specialising in hotel FF&E and Design, is set to launch its own branded vacation rental property management company, Wunderstay. 

Entering the market with a vision to reimagine the short-term rental experience and bring affordable luxury to a wide market, Wunderstay aims to bring to life an asset management platform, providing access to private equity in the market.

The brand was conceptualised with the intent to bring the best of hospitality and home comforts together, with a tasteful and authentic aesthetic that is luxurious but not pretentious.

Wunderstay’s first fleet of short-term rental units are nestled in the Alpine resort villages of Engelberg, Klosters and Davos, three picturesque locations offering ‘breathtaking’ scenery, luxury amenities, and easy access to local ski slopes.

Principals and longtime business partners, Sebastian Lang and Marcus Schwander, both graduated from the prestigious Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, where their love of hospitality and travel grew into a career path which would ultimately bring them full circle and back to Switzerland for the launch of this new venture.

Principal and co-founder, Sebastian Lang, said: “We’ve always wanted to become more active in the lodging sector where our career in the hospitality industry began. Many years later, we identified an opportunity in the short-term rental market.

“Using our experience from years of activity in the US market, we believe our brand will add value that guests will see and appreciate. Our designs and standards bring comfort and convenience otherwise only found in hotels and at a higher price.

“Wunderstay – stay your way – is a product that combines design, comfort and amenities to a simple but luxurious experience. What you see is what you get, no hidden fees or unexpectedly missing essentials,” he added.

As Wunderstay ‘Alpine’ looks ahead to growth, the co-founders are exploring how to expand their portfolio in urban locations, as well as extend the company’s footprint into the United States and throughout Europe.

Established in 2007, Lang & Schwander Hotel Interiors was developed as a business focusing on interior design and interior fit-out. They have since designed and furnished FF&E and millwork for internationally recognised hotel brands including Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt.
