limehome signs 82 apartments in Bremen
Germany: Hospitality technology provider and apartment operator, limehome, has signed 82 flats in the Balgequartier district of Bremen.
The Balgequartier, a new inner-city district along Langenstraße, is currently being developed by Joh. Jacobs and Co. Four buildings of the mixed-use development will house shops and office space.
Kontorhaus, a former bank building from 1911 which overlooks Bremen’s market square, will now be occupied by limehome. The company will operate over 80 apartments set across the second and third floors.
Jannik J. Foertsch, key accounts and strategic partnerships of limehome, said: “We are delighted to become a substantial part of Bremen’s historic city centre. With its Neo-Renaissance style arcades, the Kontorhaus is an eye-catcher of the historic building ensemble. With our digitally operated design flats, the new Kontorhaus will be a place that combines tradition and digital innovation.”
Dr Josef Vollmayr, managing director and co-founder of limehome, said: “We are proud to set new accents in Bremen’s city centre as a project partner of the renowned Joh. Jacobs & Co Group. For us, this shows serviced flats have broadly arrived as a flexible hospitality concept in the real estate sector. Contrary to the market trend, our model offers real estate developers attractive return opportunities.”
Melanie Landahl, managing director of real estate at Joh. Jacobs and Co., said: “The serviced flats by limehome are an important building block for the revitalisation of the Balgequartier. In addition, the design concept fits perfectly with our approach to develop the quarter into a place for special and high-quality offers.”
In Bremen, limehome already offers 13 flats in Hutfilterstrabe. In total, the company has over 3300 suites under contract at more than 110 locations in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Portugal and Hungary.
The Munich-based short- and long-term accommodation startup, which markets itself as a ‘digital hotel alternative’, closed a funding round of €45 million in new growth capital in November. AW Rostamani Group and Capital Four invested in the tech-based operator for the first time, while current investors HV Capital, Picus Capital and Lakestar renewed their investment in the latest funding round.
