Operto completes integration with igloohome

Vancouver:ย Operto Guest Technologies and igloohome haveย announced a “cutting-edge” integration that will bring together the formerโ€™s Smart Stay property automation solution and the latterโ€™s smart padlocks, smart lock boxes and smart locks for the first time.

igloohome offers short-term rental property managers “easy-to-deploy” solutions for deadbolts, mortise locks, smart lockboxes and smart padlocks. Its logarithmic technology – algoPINโ„ข – means that the products suit applications where an internet connection is not available and therefore work in an offline setting.

With the Operto integration, each time a booking is made, Operto will automatically send a time-based access code to guests for the igloohome products in operation within the property. This ensures that guests no longer need to download an app to receive access nor have property managers manually copying access codes into an email or SMS.

Operto, a leading property automation system for managing all types of guest accommodation, has been built for professional property managers, meaning igloohomeโ€™s products can now be used in commercial rental settings. It integrates these devices within a wider ecosystem of smart hardware and purposeful software, such as property management systems and channel managers.

Operto CEO Michael Driedger said: โ€œThe versatility of being able to use smart padlocks, smart key boxes, and other locks in offline settings really widens our ability to help everyone with access solutions. We are really happy to bring the addition of igloohome-connected products into our Smart Stay ecosystem.”

igloohome CEO and co-founder, Anthony Chow, said: “We have designed igloohome to be great for the hospitality management use case. We’re proud to be part of Operto’s solutions and aim to deliver maximum value to the property owner as well as the guest.”

igloohome-enabled products are a guest access management solution that properties can utilise as short-term rental investments.

The products install “in minutes” and work even if an internet-connected lock is not appropriate. The lockboxes are ideal for fobs or keys, with deadbolt and mortise options for mounted locks, and the padlocks are applicable for cabinets and capsule hotels, as used by Breakfast Short Term Rentals in Hiroshima, Japan.

Edward Tsieh, COO of Breakfast Short Term Rentals, said: โ€œBy using a combination of igloohome locks and Opertoโ€™s Smart Stay software, we not only ensure that our guests are fully secure, but we also create operational efficiencies so can invest more time into providing our customers with the best, most convenient and safest experience.โ€

Opertoโ€™s Smart Stay solutions are currently being used by vacation rentals, hotels, serviced apartments and niche accommodation in North America, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean.
