UK: Parkdean Resorts is investing £11 million to transform Thorness Bay on the Isle of Wight and Skipsea Sands in East Yorkshire as part of its wider £70 million investment programme for 2027.

The operator will invest £6 million in Thorness Bay and £5 million in Skipsea Sands, with both projects scheduled for completion by Easter 2027.

The programme will upgrade accommodation, leisure facilities and entertainment spaces at the two parks, while expanding their food and beverage offers.

New attractions across the sites will include Hat-Tricks sports bars, outdoor entertainment areas, fairground golf, Bear Grylls escape rooms, sports courts and bounce parks.

Thorness Bay will gain a new two-storey venue containing a Hat-Tricks sports bar with interactive darts, pool and shuffleboard. Its food and beverage offer will expand with Scoops Ice Cream, Joe’s American Grill and Thunderbird Strip Shack.

The Isle of Wight park will also introduce high ropes, indoor adventure golf and off-road driving experiences, alongside expanded indoor and outdoor play facilities.

Skipsea Sands will receive indoor climbing and adventure golf facilities, an off-road driving experience for children and an enlarged range of indoor and outdoor play areas.

Parkdean said the projects would support permanent and seasonal employment while contributing to tourism and economic growth in the surrounding communities.

Steve Richards, CEO of Parkdean Resorts, said: “We’re committed to investing £6 million in Thorness Bay Holiday Park, upgrading our accommodation and further enhancing the holiday experience for guests and owners on the Isle of Wight.”

He added that the programme reflected the company’s commitment to supporting local employment and tourism.

The two projects form part of Parkdean’s £70 million capital investment programme across its portfolio in 2027, following approximately £50 million of investment during 2026.

Parkdean owns and operates 65 holiday parks across the UK and welcomes more than three million holidaymakers annually.
