Peerspace CEO Kevin Yuann

Peerspace hires Yuann as new CEO

US: Peerspace, a marketplace for hourly venue rentals for meetings, productions and events, has announced that it has hired Kevin Yuann as its new CEO.

Yuann replaces outgoing CEO Eric Shoup, who joined Peerspace in 2018 and guided the business through a period of “breakneck” growth, including expanding its presence across the United States and into six new countries.

Founded in 2014, the Peerspace marketplace lists more than 45,000 unique venues with active operations in seven countries across three continents. The company recently celebrated one million bookings and half a billion dollars in sales completed through the platform.

Looking ahead, the startup is looking to move beyond venue rentals and into adjacent categories to further elevate the guest experience, as it continues with its core mission to bring people together to create “extraordinary moments and memories”.

Yuann arrives at Peerspace from American personal finance company NerdWallet, where he served as chief business officer, led the firm to 15x revenue growth, grew new business lines, acquired businesses, managed partnerships and acquisitions, and contributed to its initial public offering [IPO] in 2021.

Peerspace CEO Kevin Yuann said: “Peerspace has been making it easy for guests to find unique spaces to meet, create, and celebrate for the last decade. The company is on an incredible trajectory, and I’m excited about the new opportunities I see on the horizon.

“Peerspace is where extraordinary begins, and I’m looking forward to joining the team, rolling up my sleeves and leading this brand into its next decade,” he added.

Rony Chammas, founder and chairman of Peerspace, said: “I want to thank Eric for a tremendous six years leading Peerspace. Now we’re excited to pass the baton onto Kevin and welcome him to the team.

“Kevin’s experience growing a company of this size and his background in identifying new growth levers and building out new lines of business make him a great fit for Peerspace’s next phase of expanding beyond venue rentals,” he added.

Yuann will join Peerspace’s remote team from San Francisco, California.
