UK: The Short Stay Summit, the UK’s largest annual event dedicated to short-term rentals, hospitality, and tourism, has announced the Forces Employment Charity [FEC] as its official charity partner for 2025.

Welcoming over 1,200 visitors from across the globe, the Summit is a premier gathering where industry professionals—ranging from property managers and hospitality providers to technology innovators—come together to network, share ideas, and shape the future of the fast-growing short-term rental sector.

As the industry continues to evolve, the Summit has become a cornerstone event, providing valuable insights through expert-led panels, hands-on workshops, and unparalleled networking opportunities. With the addition of the Forces Employment Charity as its official partner, the Summit further underscores its commitment to engaging with diverse talent pools and promoting the skills of ex-service personnel within the tourism space.

A platform for armed forces personnel

The Forces Employment Charity is dedicated to providing life-long, life-changing, employability support, jobs and training opportunities to all service leavers, veterans, reservists and their families, irrespective of circumstances, rank, length of service or reason for leaving. As a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, the Short-Term Accommodation Association [STAA] is spotlighting the unique strengths and experiences service personnel bring to the short-term rental and broader hospitality industries.

STAA CEO Andy Fenner said: “We’re proud to welcome the Forces Employment Charity as our official charity partner for the 2025 Short Stay Summit.

“As a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, we recognise the invaluable skills our reservists, veterans, and cadet instructors offer—teamwork, discipline, leadership, and resilience. These qualities are essential in helping our industry thrive.

“This partnership will connect employers in the short-term rental and tourism sectors with motivated individuals who have served our country and are now eager to contribute to our businesses,” he added.

John Cunningham, director of justice and executive services at the Forces Employment Charity, said: “We’re delighted to be part of the Short Stay Summit and look forward to engaging with the hundreds of employers across the tourism sector. Our mission is to help members of our UK military community secure fulfilling civilian careers that leverage their extensive training and expertise – and to work with employers to help them realise the full potential of this fantastic pool of talent.

“The Summit provides an ideal platform to form new partnerships and showcase how ex-service personnel can help businesses evolve and expand,” he added.

Taking place on 2 April 2025 [the day after the 2025 Shortyz Awards], the Short Stay Summit is the largest industry-focused event in the short-term rental, hospitality, and tourism space. Drawing over 1,200 attendees from around the world, it features dynamic panel discussions, interactive workshops, cutting-edge technology showcases, and unrivalled networking sessions. The Summit unites property owners, operators, service providers, and thought leaders under one roof to explore best practices, emerging trends, and the future of short-term accommodations.

The Forces Employment Charity (FEC) is dedicated to supporting veterans, reservists, and their families, in securing fulfilling careers post-service. Through career advice, mentoring, training, and job placement, FEC empowers ex-service personnel to seamlessly transition into roles that maximise their transferable skills and experience, including leadership, adaptability, self-discipline, and teamwork.
