Wyndham launches Homes & Havens vacation rental collection

UK: Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has launched Homes & Havens, a collection of professionally managed vacation rentals available through its Wyndham Rewards loyalty programme.

Homes & Havens has launched with nearly 800 homes and villas across the United States, Caribbean, Mexico and Europe.

Wyndham plans to add hundreds of further properties in the coming months, including cabins, tiny homes and yurts.

The initial collection has been created through partnerships with independent property management and hospitality companies including Brightwild, Simpson Travel, StayTerra and Thousand Trails.

The launch gives Wyndham Rewards’ approximately 129 million enrolled members the ability to earn and redeem points when booking participating vacation rentals.

Members will receive five Wyndham Rewards points for every US dollar spent on qualifying bookings, while eligible nights will count towards the programme’s membership levels.

Reward stays currently start at 15,000 points per bedroom per night, with further tiers at 30,000 and 45,000 points. Wyndham expects to introduce a 5,000-point tier as the collection expands.

Redemptions must be arranged through Wyndham Rewards Member Services at least 60 days in advance. Points cover the base accommodation rate but exclude taxes, cleaning fees and other mandatory charges.

Most properties are expected to participate in redemptions, although availability will vary. Some villas will also require guests to submit an online reservation request before completing their booking with a reservation specialist.

Michael Shiwdin, group vice president of integrated marketing, loyalty and digital at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said: “Homes & Havens is one more step in creating a fully immersive travel rewards experience, one designed to meet members wherever their journey takes them.”

Wyndham said the collection responds to demand from travellers seeking larger accommodation for group and family trips. Research cited by the company found that approximately 30 per cent of US leisure travellers stayed in a short-term rental during their most recent trip.

Homes & Havens expands Wyndham Rewards beyond its hotel and vacation club inventory, while giving participating property managers access to the group’s loyalty membership and distribution network.
