HomeToGo unveils overnight stay at Union Berlin

Germany: Vacation rental marketplace HomeToGo has unveiled a temporary overnight stay experience at 1. FC Union Berlin’s Stadium as part of its ongoing sponsorship of the Bundesliga club.

The project, Stadionnächte by HomeToGo, will allow selected guests to stay in a custom-built vacation rental located pitchside at the stadium. The experience has been made available for two nights in May and is open to applicants via HomeToGo’s booking platform.

The short-term activation is part of HomeToGo’s broader efforts to experiment with unique stay formats and brand-led experiences. The initiative is designed to engage Union Berlin fans while showcasing the potential of alternative, non-traditional vacation rentals.

The overnight stay includes a private stadium tour, tickets to a home game, and access to a one-bedroom unit designed with interiors referencing the club’s dressing room. Guests are asked to apply by submitting a short statement about their connection to the club and what the stay would mean to them.

Dr Patrick Andrae, co-founder and CEO of HomeToGo, said the project aimed to offer something different to supporters:
“The Union family creates an incredible atmosphere at every home game, and with Stadionnächte, we wanted to offer something that reflects that connection. It’s a way to explore new types of stays and experiences.”

Bernd von Geldern, managing director of marketing at 1. FC Union Berlin, added: “Our stadium has always been a central part of the club’s identity. Through this partnership, we’ve been able to explore creative ways to extend that experience beyond matchday.”

The first stay, on 2 May, is open exclusively to Union Berlin members, with applications accepted from 22–23 April. The second, on 9 May, will be open to the general public, with a public vote used to determine the winning applicant. Both stays are free of charge.
