Twimo launches private vacation STR platform

US: On Tuesday, vacation rental management company Twimo launched a private platform for vacation homeowners amidst global restrictions on short-term rental companies. 

The platform, which is designed for homeowners who want to rent their homes to well-known guests, such as friends and family, claims the launch is an alternative to public listing sites such as Airbnb.

On the private platform, homeowners can discreetly rent, share and swap their properties within a secure network, establishing further control, security and privacy.

In addition, Twimo also offers a Home Swap Network, where verified hosts can swap homes with other verified hosts. Unlike traditional home swaps, which require credits or points, Twimo’s membership allows unlimited home swaps.

Twimo offers a plethora of in-platform management tools for homeowners, where hosts can add service vendors, schedule cleanings and make payments through Venmo. Twimo also offers integrated calendar syncs with iCal, Gmail and Airbnb, allowing vacation homeowners access to view all their bookings, cleaning, swaps, and stays in one location. 

Twimo’s platform integrates Stripe Identity and Truvi Know Your Guest as a way for vacation homeowners to safely rent to verified guests. All transactions on Twimo’s platform have zero service fees and go through Stripe and Venmo, with Stripe Radar’s fraud protection.

The launch of Twimo’s private platform comes as STR companies around the world are dealing with restrictions, such as Spain’s proposed 21 per cent value-added tax on short-term rental tourists. 

Twimo’s private platform is now live and accepting new hosts.
