Germany: Property management software provider Apaleo today unveiled a Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, positioning itself as the first PMS vendor to offer a standardised interface that enables AI agents to read and act upon hotel data across multiple systems.

The MCP Server is integrated into Apaleo’s open platform and API ecosystem, providing a universal interface for AI agents. Instead of building bespoke connections between individual systems such as property management, housekeeping, customer relationship management or payments, the server allows agents to access and act on data through a single standardised protocol.

According to Apaleo, the technology simplifies the deployment of AI in real operational settings, speeding up workflows and reducing development costs. A change to a guest booking, for example, could automatically update availability, adjust rates, amend loyalty records, notify housekeeping, and trigger billing actions.

Stephan Wiesener, co-founder and chief technology officer at Apaleo, said: “With Apaleo’s MCP Server, AI agents can carry out real tasks across hotel systems without the need for custom integrations.”

The new server builds on Apaleo’s earlier investment in its Agent Hub, a marketplace for AI agents designed for hospitality use cases. Together, the two initiatives aim to accelerate the use of autonomous AI tools within hotel operations.

CitizenM, which already operates on Apaleo’s platform, is among the early adopters exploring the potential. Mike Rawson, chief information officer at citizenM, described the MCP as “the great AI democratiser in hotel tech,” highlighting its shift from “coding to describing intent.”

Currently in alpha testing, the MCP Server is expected to play a key role in enabling hoteliers to adopt AI-powered automation at scale.

Highlights

  • Apaleo introduces hospitality’s first MCP Server to connect AI agents with hotel systems through a standardised protocol.

  • Reduces the need for custom integrations, allowing faster and cheaper deployment of AI in hotel operations.

  • Builds on Apaleo’s Agent Hub marketplace for hospitality-focused AI agents.

  • CitizenM is testing the server, describing it as a democratiser of AI in hotel technology.
