US: Luxury vacation-home co-ownership platform Ember has launched Ember Exchange, a new programme that gives its owners access to more than 30,000 homes worldwide through a partnership with luxury home-exchange network ThirdHome.
The initiative enables Ember owners to trade unused time in their properties for stays across ThirdHome’s global portfolio, which spans more than 100 countries, including European city apartments, Caribbean villas, ski homes and coastal estates.
Ember said the move is designed to expand the value of its co-ownership model by offering more flexibility and widening the range of destinations available to owners.
Kurt Avarell, ceo of Ember, said: “Ember Exchange is about expanding what ownership means. We’ve always been committed to making second home ownership smarter, easier, and more rewarding. Now, we’re adding a new layer of possibility, turning one incredible home into access to thousands.”
How the programme works:
Eligible Ember owners will receive a complimentary ThirdHome membership, valued at around $10,000, including waived initiation fees and initial travel credits, known as Keys. Owners can earn additional Keys by depositing unused weeks from their Ember homes, with higher bonuses available during peak-season periods.
Participation is optional and is open to:
- Ember co-owners, including Ember Flex and Ember Limited homes (the latter subject to majority owner approval)
- Homeowners using Ember Stays, the company’s luxury property-management service
Ember said the integration allows owners to contribute unused weeks to the ThirdHome network, collect Keys, and redeem them for stays at other luxury properties worldwide using a fully managed system.
