Short Stay Week scheduled for May in Barcelona
Spain: The Short Stay Week, made up of five days of “ground-breaking, synergetic” meetings, workshops and conferences dedicated to the short-term rental industry, is coming to Barcelona this May.
All events take place from 15-19 May at the World Trade Centre in Barcelona; one of Europe’s most progressive and business-friendly cities.
The series of unmissable events includes the return of the Scale Rentals Show and The Book Direct Show; delivering content and solutions for ambitious short-term rental property owners, managers and investors.
Choose the topics relevant to you
As an attendee, you can pick and choose the conferences and workshops relevant to your business. Whether you’re an owner, single or multi-unit host, or looking for an M&A exit strategy, you will find an event with your name on it.
You only need to book tickets for those events, keeping the Short Stay Week and The Scale Rentals Show relevant and cost-effective.
As well as topics, such as scaling strategies, direct bookings, sustainability, customer satisfaction, technological advances and exit strategies, events and workshops have been included to focus on common obstacles faced in 2023 and beyond.
The Scale Rentals Show
The second edition of The Scale Rentals Show will take place on 17-18 May.
Scale Rentals is described as the only global industry conference where attendees are exclusively property managers managing 25+ short-term rental properties with ambitions of scaling up, diversifying or who are investigating merger or exit strategies, and looking to connect and learn from peers.
Day 1 is dedicated to ambitious companies managing between 25 and 49 short-term rental properties.
Day 2 is exclusively for large operators managing 50+ units and looking to scale successfully.
Confirmed speakers include: Jessica Gillingham; Richard Vaughton; Heather Bayer; Jamie Lane; Noelia Novella; Mike Ortegon; Evan Dolgow; Vanessa de Souza Lage; John An; and Thibault Masson. Check out the full speaker lineup list.
The Book Direct Show
Now in its fourth year, The Book Direct Show is the only conference dedicated to short-term rental managers seeking to generate more direct bookings and reduce reliance on online booking agents [OTAs].
After heading to Miami in 2022, The Book Direct Show is back in Europe and will see sessions presented by some of the industry’s most successful book direct advocates, including: Heather Bayer; Evan Dolgow; Mark Simpson; Daniela Derin; Neely Khan; and Kelly Odor, amongst others.
Attendees will be able to learn key strategies to gain “independence” from the OTAs.
SEO Summit
At last year’s Scale Rentals Shows, it became apparent that SEO was a topic that many short-term rental owners and managers found confusing and daunting. With that in mind, this year sees the inaugural Scale Rentals SEO Summit focusing on search engine optimisation specifically for STR managers.
Leading SEO experts, including Romaine Giacalone, Maeva Cifuentes and Jan Kammerath, will teach the importance of optimising content for Google and other search engines, keyword research, guest profiling, tools and essential back-linking strategies to improve your online search ranking.
Industry firsts
The week includes a series of industry firsts specifically prepared with content for short-term rental hosts.
Web 3.0 in Travel will be the first travel conference dedicated to the transition to Web 3.0 for short-term rental businesses. Web3 in Travel takes place on Monday 15 May.
The Exit Door is a unique event which will host up to 100 short-term rental property managers who want to learn first-hand how to realistically value their company and meet with prospective industry investors and companies who want to acquire operators. The Exit Door takes place on Friday 19 May.
Scale Luxury is a half-day event designed for travel professionals in the luxury sector, organised and delivered by Wolf Worster, founder of Sirreti, and Michael Friedman from Onefinestay. Scale Luxury takes place on Friday 19 May.
The Pod is a unique breakout room designated to short-term rental industry podcasters. The space will also host several additional and concurrent sessions throughout the week presented by leading property management companies based on real-life experience and expertise.
Networking opportunities
A key element of the Short Stay Week is the opportunity to network and build successful relationships with industry leaders, property managers and service providers.
Common goals, strategies and real-life experiences will be shared to empower visitors to drive their short-term rental business forward.
The show finale is a private networking event for a maximum of 100 attendees to discover how to value their companies as well as meet prospective investors.
