Alterhome launches training courses through Alterschool
Spain: Property management company Alterhome is launching three new educational courses for its online training school for hospitality professionals – Alterschool.
The Madrid-based startup, which manages 240 homes and 25 tourist hotels, is targeting helping up to 3000 students this year by offering three different courses: Emprendetur Tech; Vacation Rental Growth; and Revenues for Pros.
Firstly, Emprendetur Tech is a master’s qualification costing 499 euros , in which classes will be given in 15-minute sessions by high-level executives. This includes Ramón Estalella, general secretary of CEHAT [Confederación Española de Hoteles y Alojamientos Turísticos]; Ricardo Fernández, managing director of Destinia; Juan Carlos Fernández, former General Manager South of Europe, Vrbo / Homeaway, or Rudy Sáenz de Ugarte Corres, regional manager Central American Caribbean Coast.”
Alterhome founder and CEO, Chema González told El País Economía: “The most groundbreaking is Emprendetur Tech. It is an ultra-practical master in which you teach from scratch how to set up your own tourist rental business, how it works and how to generate sales of between half a million euros and one million euros in 12 months.
“We prefer a very cheap great master’s degree that helps thousands of people than a very expensive master’s degree that only reaches a few,” he added.
The training will target directors of hotels, hostels, apartments and vacation rentals who want to “continue improving and staying up-to-date, learn how to grow their businesses, and expand their knowledge base”.
Meanwhile, the other two training proposals will place a focus on tourist apartments and the management of income linked to tourists.
The first, called Vacation Rental Growth, is designed to teach students how to improve a tourist apartment business with the implementation of technology.
On the other hand, Revenues for Pros is set up to train professionals and non-professionals in the variable management of hotel and apartment revenue, modifying rates based on occupancy and passenger flows to optimise the costs and expenses of the establishments.
