The Beachside holiday complex brought to market for £17.5 million
UK: Property consultancy Knight Frank is marketing The Beachside holiday apartment complex in Crowed Bay, North Devon for £17.5 million.
The Beachside comprises the Croyde Bay Hotel as well as 20 apartments spread over three buildings known as Seastocks, Freshwell and Sealawn. The site also features a disused indoor swimming pool.
Mike and Mark Saltmarsh, the current owners of The Beachside, have operated the business for over 30 years. The team most recently completed a renovation of Seastocks.
The new owners have the potential to operate the site as a holiday park, private residential estate, or hotel.
Mark Saltmarsh, owner of The Beachside said: “It’s been a magical 30 years at Beachside, we feel so incredibly lucky to have worked in such a beautiful location. The direct access and elevated views of one of the UK’s most iconic bays makes this property so incredibly special. We’ve been truly blessed to have been a part of Croyde’s front line for so many years!
“As Mike approaches retirement age, the time seems right to hand over the reins to someone new, however we look forward to finding an investor who will take Beachside to the next level, placing it well and truly on the map,” Saltmarsh added.
Christian Swaab, head of new homes in the Devon and Cornwall team at Knight Frank, said: “This is an extraordinary opportunity to acquire a prime development site located on one of south west England’s finest coastal positions. It’s unique vantage point means the development opportunities are extensive and we anticipate strong market interest.
“This purchase will provide an investor with further growth prospects as the property holds planning permission and can be used for a variety of purposes including residential or to bring in business trade.”
