Carolina Retreats buys Tranquil House Inn
US: Carolina Retreats, a specialty lodging and vacation rental management company has acquired The Tranquil House Inn, a 25-room inn and event space in Manteo on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
The inn will become part of Carolina Retreats’ family of brands, which also include Carolina Retreats Vacation Rentals, Topsail Realty Vacations, the Loggerhead Inn on Topsail Island, and The Beach House @ Oak Island – a 22-unit ocean view vacation rental motel property on Oak Island, NC.
Built in 1988 by developer Ray Hollowell and owned and operated for the past 27 years by The Tranquility Company and the Just family, The Tranquil House Inn offers unobstructed marina views of Shallowbag Bay, and is within walking distance to the dining and shopping options of downtown Manteo.
Mike Harrington, CEO and owner of Carolina Retreats and the Tranquil House Inn, said: “The Tranquil House Inn is truly one of the iconic boutique hotel and inn properties on the Outer Banks. As a hospitality management provider, we felt this opportunity was just too good to pass up. It fits a niche within our company, which is offering both traditional vacation rental homes on a mostly weekly basis, and smaller, historically significant beach motel and inn properties for shorter stays and smaller traveling parties.”
The Tranquil House Inn offers multiple room types from king and double queen suites, to standard rooms for those looking for a unique weekend escape. Carolina Retreats plans to make improvements to the property over time, with room upgrades and a future announcement for plans of the former 1587 restaurant space.
