Disruption Ventures participates in Hostfully funding round
Canada: Female-focused venture firm Disruption Ventures has invested in the $1 million seed round of San Francisco-based software provider Hostfully.
The provider aims to help property managers streamline their operations and engage more effectively with guests.
The financing round was led by Precursor Ventures, with assistance from MergeLane, Wharton Alumni Angels and Blue Startups.
Hostfully was founded back in 2015 by CEO Margot Schmorak, who had previously worked for Apple in launching the first iPhone develop program.
Disruption managing partner Elaine Kunda said the software provider has maintained the woman-centric vision of the firm that her own company had been launched with.
She said: “Margot has built a diverse, product-focused team that is solving a specific problem in a high-growth industry. Hostfully has a proven model and is generating real recurring revenue.”
Kunda launched Disruption in 2018 as a way of investing in North American startup tech companies that were founded and managed by female entrepreneurs.
