Evolve creates social responsibility initiative

US: Denver-based vacation rental management company Evolve has announced the launch of its new social responsibility initiative – the Building Hospitality programme – which will donate one per cent of its websites proceeds from every rental booked.

Evolve, which manages over 15,000 properties in North America, was founded with the belief that people deserve safe accommodations, both on vacation and at home.

To further this mission, Evolve has launched its new initiative to help those in need, including the elderly, people with disabilities, low-income families, veterans and more. The money will be used to make necessary repairs to the homes of those they serve to make them feel safe and comfortable.

The programme is expected to generate more than $1 million of donations in its first year.

Evolve has partnered with non-profit organisation Rebuilding Together, which is dedicated to helping repair homes and revitalise communities, for the launch of this programme. Together, the companies will make repairs to homes in underprivileged communities, starting in Denver, but eventually spreading across the country.

The companies will also aim to preserve the affordable housing landscape across the country and discuss the connections between health and a safe home.

Brian Egan, CEO and co-founder of Evolve, said: “Most importantly, we see our commitment with Building Hospitality as the right thing to do. We’re working to become the most trusted hospitality brand in vacation rental, and we know that trust can’t exist without care.

“This is one way for us to care for the many communities we’re a part of across the country. This programme is a natural expansion of our everyday focus on hospitality.

For more than a decade, we’ve helped our guests have memorable experiences in homes they love. Now we’re able to extend our spirit of hospitality to the people who need it most and our guests can feel great knowing that staying in our homes helps others stay in theirs,” he added.

Earlier this year, Evolve announced a rebranding from its previous ‘Evolve Vacation Rental’ brand name, an expansion of its executive team, and record growth including a 70 per cent year-on-year increase in net booking value at the start of 2021.

To date, Evolve has raised more than $124 million across five different funding rounds.
