US: Expedia Group has combined its B2B and global supply organisations under a single leadership structure as the company continues expanding its platform and partner business.
The company announced that Alfonso Paredes has been appointed president of B2B and chief commercial officer, adding oversight of Expedia Group’s global supply operations to his existing responsibilities leading the company’s B2B division.
The move brings Expedia Group’s supply categories including hotels, vacation rentals, air travel, activities, car rental and insurance under the same structure as its partner distribution and platform operations.
Expedia said the reorganisation is designed to better align travel supply with partner distribution as the company continues growing its B2B business beyond traditional wholesale travel sales.
Paredes said the company was focused on strengthening its role as a global travel platform.
“By bringing Supply and B2B together, we can simplify how partners work with us, move faster across the marketplace, and create more opportunities for partners to grow through our technology, distribution and supply network,” he said.
The announcement follows continued growth in Expedia Group’s B2B segment. In its latest quarterly earnings, the company reported a 25 per cent year-on-year increase in B2B revenue to $1.2 billion.
Expedia also reported 22 per cent growth in B2B bookings, alongside partnerships with companies including Uber and AIR MILES.
As part of the leadership changes, long-serving executive Greg Schulze will leave Expedia Group following a transition period after more than 20 years with the business.
