Europe: HomeCamper and Campspace, booking platforms for campsites, tent and van spots, cabins, glampsites, yurts, treehouses and more, have merged to create “Europe’s largest platform for unique outdoor stays”, now under the unified brand HomeCamper | campspace.
The merger combines over 75,000 spots, from French campsites to scenic retreats in the Netherlands and Germany, making it Europe’s largest platform of its kind. Operating in 45 countries and supporting thousands of hosts, the unified brand will work in seven languages, establishing itself as a leading destination for outdoor enthusiasts in Europe.
Both HomeCamper and Campspace claim to share a common vision: to make outdoor experiences more accessible and enjoyable by connecting nature lovers with private or small-scale hosts offering unique stays. The vision focuses on promoting sustainable travel and fostering a deeper connection with nature and local communities.
Based in France and the Benelux regions, and both established around 2016, HomeCamper and Campspace both offer access to micro-camping sites – locations offered by private individuals or small-scale professional hosts.
Outdoor stays platform Campspace previously raised €3 million in April 2022 to fund its expansion across Europe, as well as acquiring German-based Pop-Up Camps.
Campspace CEO Hugo van Donselaar said: “Our merger represents a logic new chapter for both HomeCamper and Campspace. I am very excited for the future of our combined company, as we work together to create exceptional outdoor experiences for our guests. The synergies in supply and demand will lead to more relevant and diverse offerings, enhancing the quality of our service and the satisfaction of our guests.”
HomeCamper CEO Etienne de Galbert said: “We are thrilled to join forces with Campspace, creating Europe’s largest platform for unique camping experiences. This merger offers French travellers better access to locations in the Benelux and Germany, and it provides French hosts the opportunity to welcome more international guests. Under the new name HomeCamper | Campspace, we are committed to revolutionising the outdoor hospitality industry for our French community.”
Moving forward, HomeCamper | campspace will unify their platforms, combine their extensive networks of hosts and streamline the booking processes, with a wider aim to expand the network and incorporate more diverse and sustainable outdoor stays across Europe.
