US: Property management software provider Hostfully has teamed up with global tours and attractions business Viator.
The partners are offering what they describe as “a first-ever service to vacation rental property managers”.
Property managers can make a digital guidebook to send to their guests which automatically includes local tours and activities in the area, powered by Viator. If the guest purchases a tour or activity, the property manager receives eight per cent of the value.
Hostfully‘s David Jacoby said: “Property managers only get 20 to 30 per cent of the rental amount, the rest going to the owner, and so they are always looking for additional revenue streams. Traditionally, it has been complicated to ‘monetize the guest’ and provide a concierge arm, especially for small and mid-size property managers. But now, by combining Hostfully guidebooks with Viator, it is super-simple. We are thrilled that Viator chose Hostfully as a strategic channel to reach vacation rental property managers.”
Viator is owned by Tripadvisor, which acquired the business in 2014.
