UK: The inaugural Short Stay Show event took place at ExCel London this week, which brought together professionals from the short-term rental industry for a one-day conference.
The event was primarily aimed at owners, managers and investors of short-term accommodations who were looking to capitalise on the rising pace of the short-term rental industry to either start or scale up their businesses.
Over 1,400 visitors attended the event, as well as more than 50 exhibitors and 100 speakers, who could provide their own insights of the industry for the first time at the show. Speakers notably included political journalist Robert Peston and Short-Term Accommodation Association (STAA) chairperson and UnderTheDoormat CEO and founder, Merilee Karr, among others.
The Premium Access Conference, meanwhile, provided an opportunity for keynote speakers, government representatives, futurists and significant panellists to discuss the growth and innovation within the industry as well as to map out a sustainable and sensible pathway for further growth in the future.
Show organiser Jim Curry said: “To all the partners and exhibitors who held our hand in a leap of faith and trusted us to deliver an attendance of more than 1,400 short stay specialists in one day – we did it. Same time next year (but bigger!).”
The dates and venue for the 2020 edition of the Short Stay Show will be revealed in due course.
