The Lakes by Yoo to launch cabin / apartment offering this summer
UK: Gloucestershire-based exclusive rural estate The Lakes by Yoo has announced the launch of a collection of new waterside cabins and apartments this summer.
The first of their kind on the estate, the new luxury cabins and apartments have been designed by YOO Studio, founded by international property entrepreneur John Hitchcox and renowned designer Philippe Starck. Other acclaimed design partners include Kate Moss, Kelly Hoppen and Jade Jagger.
With nine two-bedroom cabins and 18 three-bedroom apartments, the new accommodation offering is aimed particularly at couples, families and groups of friends seeking a domestic staycation.
Situated 90 minutes away from London, the new cabins and apartments will be available for shorter bookings, with guests able to opt for two-night stays. Sustainable touches have been incorporated throughout, including the use of natural and local materials, such as Cotswold stone and locally woven willow.
Design highlights include a double height open-plan living space with a wood burner, a split-level deck overlooking Marley Lake, and a four-poster bed with views over the lake.
Set amongst 850 acres of lakes, meadows and woodlands, The Lakes offers guests an “authentic wilderness oasis” with facilities and activities that range from fishing and boating to tennis and zip-wiring. A dedicated concierge service is on hand to arrange bespoke experiences and events on demand.
The estate’s restaurant, Elsa’s, will reopen for the summer season, offering an alfresco tipi setting and a series of summer pop ups, while a selection of treatments and therapies are available at The Spa for guests to sample.
Sustainable living has been placed at the heart of the estate’s ethos.
On the estate, over 500,000 trees have been planted, a farm created, bees cultivated, and millions invested to create an ecologically respectful environment. There are also a variety of initiatives and fundraising programmes that have been formed to support the local community.
