Canada: Luxury short-term rental property management company The Laundry Rooms has announced a partnership with brokerage firm Urban Reform Realty to source locations across Canada and develop the roll-out of its extended stay residential hotel model.
Based in Waterloo, Ontario, The Laundry Rooms has an existing presence in five locations [including Quebec] which are currently under development, and it plans to expand to between 10 and 12 locations over the next four years, in both primary and secondary markets.
Urban Reform Realty is targeting additional amenity rich residential mixed-use building sites in Hamilton, London, Ottawa, Kingston, Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal and Brampton to add to The Laundry Rooms’ current portfolio. The property management company is keen to target “regionally dominant, amenity-rich residential developments with ground-floor retail close to employment, entertainment, educational and health drivers”.
The Laundry Rooms, which bills itself as Canada’s “premiere luxury short-term rental company”, has built its own hybrid lodging concept, somewhere in the middle of a hotel and a typical Airbnb listing.
The Laundry Rooms CEO Matthew Opferkuch said: “We are pleased to partner with Urban Reform given their love of walkable, transit friendly neighbourhoods and their solid experience in unique, mixed use developments and deep rooted connections to the landlord community.”

The Laundry Rooms incorporates a “light-touch, guest management” model, which allows guests to minimise interactions with staff if they choose, including remote check-in, keyless entry, virtual concierge and on-demand housekeeping all within a fully-furnished, private, residential setting.
