Mandarin Oriental plans global expansion for Exclusive Homes

Worldwide: Luxury hotel management group Mandarin Oriental is planning to expand its Exclusive Homes portfolio in Europe, Asia, the United States, and the Caribbean.

The group wants to grow its portfolio of homes, which it describes as “a hand-picked collection of the world’s most luxurious private homes [vacation homes, chalets and mansions] delivering exceptional Mandarin Oriental experiences”, to more than 100 properties within the next five years, with the European expansion extending to winter and summer breaks.

Since launching via a partnership with luxury vacation rental membership platform StayOne last March, Mandarin Oriental Exclusive Homes’ portfolio has grown by 150 per cent in 12 months, with its curated collection of 20+ properties now spanning highly sought-after destinations across the UK, Europe and Asia.

Each property is closely aligned with the exacting standards of exceptional service and hospitality experience driven by the Mandarin Oriental. A strict vetting process was introduced to ensure properties fulfil the 700 Mandarin hotel brand standards, ranging from cleanliness and safety to concierge-like services, housekeeping, and other services such as in-house private chefs.

Joanna Flint, chief commercial officer of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, said: “We are thrilled with the success to date of our venture into luxury private home rentals, which has proven to be an innovative pillar for our strategic growth. With our loyal fans at the center of everything we do, we are committed to redefining the luxury home rental market with our renowned service quality and growing our portfolio in highly desirable locations for our guests.”

Thomas Bennett, co-founder of StayOne, said: “Our collaboration with Mandarin Oriental has created a unique offering in the luxury private home market, and we are delighted with the success to date. Mandarin Oriental is a globally respected and trusted brand delivering legendary service and bespoke experiences, and we are thrilled to be working with them to further grow our portfolio of exceptional homes, providing new and unique experiences for guests.”

StayOne [formerly Stay One Degree] was launched in 2018 by Bennett and Jorge Munoz and now offers a curated collection of more than 4,000 properties in over 250 destinations. For the properties on its platform, the best locations are chosen according to their secluded intimacy, family-friendly attractions and “party scenarios”.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group operates 36 hotels and nine residences in 24 countries and territories. The group is a member of the Jardine Matheson Group.
