US: Steamboat Springs-based vacation rental management company Moving Mountains has announced the purchase of Vail-based operator Triumph Mountain Properties, also in Colorado.

The acquisition is being described as “transformative” for Moving Mountains, as it strengthens its presence in the luxury hospitality market in Vail Valley and transforms its portfolio into one of the largest across Vail and Beaver Creek.

Moving Mountains will now represent Triumph’s portfolio of 26 rental properties and 25 home care properties – including Triumph’s Apex Collection, an elite selection of ultra-luxury homes offering guests opulence and bespoke services.

Robin Craigen, co-founder and CEO of Moving Mountains, said: “We are excited for the opportunity to combine Moving Mountains and Triumph Mountain Properties, the two leaders in luxury hospitality in the Vail Valley, into one incredible portfolio of luxurious homes and residences, backed by a skilled team of hospitality and property management professionals from both companies. Visitors to the Vail Valley will now have more opportunities to ski Vail and Beaver Creek while staying with Moving Mountains, and high-end second-home owners will benefit from our combined resources and expertise in year-round property care.

“We look forward to seamlessly integrating Triumph into our existing operations while continuing to uphold the exceptional standards for which both brands are known,” he added.

Michael Connolly, general manager of Triumph Properties, said: “This new partnership represents a win-win for property owners, esteemed guests and dedicated employees and is a testament to our commitment to providing the highest level of luxury and service.

“For our homeowners, it means an expanded array of premium services and expertise, ensuring their properties continue to receive meticulous care. Guests can anticipate an enhanced level of luxury and access to a wider portfolio of exquisite vacation homes.

“Additionally, all Triumph employees will be welcomed as Moving Mountains employees, ensuring a smooth transition and the continuation of exceptional service,” he added.

Julia Salerno, general manager for Vail and Beaver Creek at Moving Mountains, said: “I’m thrilled about merging the strengths of the Moving Mountains and Triumph Mountain Properties teams. This union creates a powerhouse of expertise, ensuring meticulous care for homeowners’ properties and offering guests an expanded, curated selection of luxurious homes.

“Our collaboration sets new benchmarks in luxury hospitality, delivering exceptional experiences for homeowners and guests in the Vail Valley,” she added.

The acquisition takes Moving Mountains’ managed portfolio to more than 230 properties in Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Steamboat Springs. It previously acquired Breckenridge-based agency Paragon Lodging in an undisclosed transaction in September 2021.
