Nestor rolls out eco-friendly products at The Carlyle
UK: Nestor, a hospitality business in the alternative accommodation sector, has been appointed to manage The Carlyle building in Earl’s Court, and is using it as a model for environmentally friendly practices in the hospitality sector.
The Carlyle, in Earl’s Court SW5, has 12 apartments, with two-beds starting at £200 per night. Each apartment has been refurbished by Visu Verum Interiors, incorporating modern fittings and elegant design pieces.
Nestor will now provide guests at The Carlyle with ethical brands such as Who Gives a Crap toilet paper and Noble Isle vegan toiletries, as well as seasonal welcome treats from local, responsibly sourced brands. Every item in the apartments is chosen with sustainability in mind and provided in refillable jars and bottles.
To eliminate paper waste, Nestor has installed QR codes throughout The Carlyle to provide guests with thoughtful content [that can be accessed via their mobile phone], including house manuals and local recommendation guides.
Fran Milsom, co-founder and director of Nestor, said: “We have been researching environmental products as part of a longer term sustainability plan for the buildings we manage and feel that The Carlyle really aligns with our desire to be as eco-friendly as possible. Not only that, but it fits with our ethos of being technologically advanced, in a great location, with appealing design so we are delighted to be managing it.
“Since launch, the pickup has been much better than we could have planned, with lots of bookings and consistently high occupancy rates, and we expect that to continue. The Carlyle is ideal for both the leisure and the corporate market – we are offering both mid and short-term rentals, addressing the growing desire for flexibility in corporate travel and the wider alternative accommodation sector.
“The Carlyle launch is part of our wider plan to expand into this sector and we will be announcing more like this in due course,” he added.
Nestor is pledging to go “above and beyond to provide guests with an exceptional stay” by placing in depth local guides, handwritten welcome postcards and high quality, eco-friendly toiletries and welcome packs in rooms.
Smartlocks have also been installed at The Carlyle to offer flexibility and enhanced guest support for guests over a number of platforms such as WhatsApp and live chat through Nestor’s official website.
In addition, The Carlyle has achieved a 9/10 rating on Booking.com.
