US: Prism, formerly OYO, has secured leases on 10 former Sonder properties through the company’s bankruptcy process, marking the US launch of its short-term rental brand Belvilla.
The move represents Belvilla’s first operational presence outside Europe.
Prism selectively acquired 10 assets from a portfolio of 79 properties made available through the court-led process.
Properties secured span New York, Seattle, New Orleans, Denver, Philadelphia, Austin and Phoenix. Initial operations have begun at The Dutch and Court Square in Long Island City, New York, and The Louie in New Orleans, under the Belvilla District 6 urban brand.
Prism said the court-supervised process allowed it to target assets that met its criteria for unit economics and operational feasibility, focusing on properties capable of delivering consistent guest experience with cost discipline.
Belvilla enters the US market with an existing European portfolio of more than 60,000 holiday homes. Prism also operates Motel 6 and Studio 6 under G6 in North America, alongside European brands including DanCenter and Traum-Ferienwohnungen.
Ankit Tandon, global chief operating officer and chief executive Europe at Prism, said the US expansion is “deliberate and selective”, with additional landlord discussions already underway.
