UK: A new resale platform targeting the UK lodge and caravan market has launched, positioning itself as an alternative to traditional, park-led resale models.
LodgesAndCaravans.ForSale has been set up to allow owners to list lodges and caravans directly, rather than selling through site operators, which in many cases can control resale routes and apply commission-based fees.
The platform operates independently of park owners and uses fixed-fee listings rather than percentage resale commission, a structure its founders say is intended to remove financial incentives linked to transaction value.
The launch has been backed by property expert Phil Spencer, who has invested in the business and joined its board as a director. Spencer said the platform reflects growing concern around transparency and exit options within the holiday park ownership market.
The UK holiday park sector comprises more than 6,000 parks and nearly 440,000 pitches nationwide, with ownership models varying widely between operators. In many cases, resale rules are governed by park licence agreements, which can restrict how and where units are sold.
The founders of LodgesAndCaravans.For.Sale said the platform was developed in response to limited independent resale options for owners seeking to exit, particularly as the market matures and owner demographics shift.
