UK/France: Luxury tour operator Simpson Travel has acquired villa rental company South France Villas as it expands its accommodation portfolio across southern France.
The acquisition, which completed on 4 August 2026, adds properties across the Languedoc, Côte d’Azur and French Riviera to Simpson Travel’s existing France programme.
Financial terms and the number of properties included in the transaction were not disclosed.
South France Villas was founded in 2000 by Trudi and Niall Andrews, who are retiring following the sale. Its portfolio stretches from Nice to Collioure and includes coastal homes, Provençal farmhouses, designer villas and châteaux suitable for weddings and larger groups.
Sandra Macdonald will move from South France Villas to become Simpson Travel’s portfolio manager for the South of France. Based near Béziers, she has more than 20 years of experience in the villa rental sector.
Ed Pyke, CEO of Simpson Travel, said: “Bringing the business into Simpson Travel means we can carry that spirit forward while opening up some exciting new corners of France for our own guests to discover.”
The acquisition follows Simpson Travel’s addition of Affinity Villas in 2025, which supported the launch of its Portugal programme.
Simpson Travel was founded in 2002 and offers villas and boutique hotels across destinations including Greece, Italy, France, Portugal, Spain and Turkey.
