Tipi teams up with John Lewis to create ‘rental zen’ homes

UK: Lifestyle-led rental homes brand Tipi is opening a building in London’s Wembley Park, which it hopes will lead the way in achieving ‘rental zen’ due to the interior furnishings of the apartments.

The company, which markets itself as an all-inclusive professional rental service, is a ‘Build to Rent’ or Private Rental Sector (PRS) management company which builds, professionally manages and leases contemporary apartments to customers without charging agents’ fees.

The Alameda building is the result of a collaboration between Tipi and British retailer John Lewis & Partners, as well as architectural and interior design practice Fossey Arora. The brand claims it can deliver an ‘oasis of contemporary calm in each and every apartment’ and the furnishings are hand-picked to provide guests with a sense of pride when staying there.

Fossey Arora director Chotip Arora said: “The overall scheme is of softness, luxury and refinement – a zen-like quality, with ethereal pastel overtones and heavy textures. Flashes of brass and shiny marble lift and reflect. We play with light via patterned voiles, casting interesting shapes and tones on the walls.”

The process of achieving this sense of ‘rental zen’ supposedly starts with colour choice, with taupe, apple and teal designated as the base palettes and rose and mustard colours reflected in the apartments’ furnishings. Residents have the chance to opt for an apartment with the palette that most aligns with their own personal and individual taste.

The Tipi team and their partners selected furnishings to suit each individual apartment, maximising the use of space and offering practical solutions that deliver impeccable style.

Claire, a design lead at John Lewis & Partners, said: “For a cosy and informal touch there is a light-weight pouffe (or ottoman). These are in heavy textured patterns with a handmade quality, adding a touch of individuality.

“We really focused on making the four show apartments aspirational and exciting by working in a completely new way – we created a unique profile for each apartment that we built personalities and lifestyles around. This meant we could tailor each look to be suited to a new and different way of modern living and renting – whether that be the latest handbag sitting on the bed, a bike in the cupboard or a well-stocked kitchen – while also keeping contemporary design and residents in mind,” she added.

Alameda (meaning tree-lined avenue in Spanish) is situated at the heart of the lively Wembley Park community. The surrounding area is home to a wide array of facilities, including the new Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, Wembley Stadium, the SSE Arena, Boxpark, London Designer Outlet and a wide range of independent retailers.

The building also features resident lounges, a large work-from-home area and a signature roof garden that overlooks the iconic Wembley Stadium arch.

Apartments at Alameda are priced from £1,695 pcm for a studio, £1,825 for a one-bedroom home, £2,300 for a two-bedroom and £3,350 for a three-bed including utilities and 40 mb/s broadband.
