Vacasa reaches Wyndham integration milestone in South Carolina

US: Vacation rental management platform Vacasa has announced that subsidiary Vacasa South Carolina LLC has assumed management of approximately 600 vacation homes in South Carolina.

The company’s total portfolio of professionally managed vacation homes in the Palmetto State now surpasses 1200, many of which are located in key destinations including Folly Beach, Hilton Head Island, Isle of Palms, Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island.

Vacasa has been operating in South Carolina since its asset purchase of Resort Rentals of Hilton Head Island [RRHHI] in 2017, and has been operating and maintaining the company’s office location under the same name. RRHHI properties, and those coming on board as a result of the integration of Wyndham Vacation Rentals, will be managed by Vacasa South Carolina LLC.

The company’s total home count on Hilton Head Island will increase to 584 vacation rentals.

Annie Ferguson, Vacasa general manager on Hilton Head Island, said: “We have a tremendous opportunity with the homeowners we’re bringing on through the Wyndham Vacation Rentals acquisition and look forward to introducing them to the enhanced benefits that Vacasa brings to the table.

“Since our acquisition of Resort Rentals of Hilton Head Island’s assets, we have increased the percentage of homeowner take-home, which now sits around 77 per cent of total earnings. This is approximately a six per cent increase from previous management,” she added.

The company plans to relocate to the Wyndham Vacation Rentals Hilton Head Island office at 21 Executive Park Road on Hilton Head Island. In addition to the local team currently in place, Vacasa will welcome more than 20 Wyndham Vacation Rentals employees to its local team on the island.

Outside of Hilton Head Island, Vacasa will add 370 homes along the South Carolina coastline. Already operating on Kiawah and Seabrook Islands, Vacasa will add new markets in Folly Beach and Isle of Palms. The company will also add 42 Wyndham Vacation Rentals employees throughout the region.

Paul Zabel, regional director of South Carolina, said: “We are thrilled to be expanding into some of South Carolina’s most popular vacation markets, and are excited to join forces with the already stellar Wyndham Vacation Rentals team that has been serving this market for years.

“The thousands of travellers that visit the area each year will have an abundance of vacation homes to choose from when they book their next trip,” he added.

Vacasa will continue integrating Wyndham Vacation Rentals’ 9,000+ vacation rentals market-by-market over the next 12 months, with full completion anticipated by the autumn.
