Villas of Distinction reveal up and coming destinations for 2020

Worldwide: World Travel Holdings’ luxury villa brand Villas of Distinction revealed earlier today its five major up and coming destinations of 2020.

The data was gathered from bookings made for the year to come, with the most major increases in the following destinations: Grand Cayman, Sicily, St. Martin, Jamaica, and Orlando.

The data revealed a surprising level of continuity, with three of the five destinations remaining the same as they were prior, with only Barbados and Turks & Caicos falling out of favour. Factors motivating travel have persisted as well- beaches, the arrival of new attractions, and an atmosphere welcoming to families.

A major shift is the specification of Sicily from the prior years focus on the entirety of Italy.

Villas of Distinction VP of public relations Steve Lassman said: “We are seeing a trend of travellers, especially ones who have already visited Italy, moving away from travelling to the more traditional regions.”

“With Sicily being the largest Italian island, it offers travelers an array of activities from archaeological sites, popular beaches, and mild climate to history, good cuisine and a vibrant nightlife.”

St. Martin’s rise on the list represents a major recovery after the devastation it faced as a result of Hurricane Irma. The dutch half of the island is notable for its new attractions, such as Topper’s Rhum Distillery, with stayover arrivals rising by 144 per cent by the end of the year.

Jamaica and Orlando have maintained their grip on the vacation rental service, with the family offerings in Orlando and the new developments on the south coast of Jamaica leading to their continued rise.

Villas of Distinction runs hotel rentals in over 50 countries, with the promise of meeting guest expectations of what a luxury holiday is meant to be. The company added a slew of additional properties to their roster in 2019, with villas in South Africa, Spain, Napa, and Venice.
