VRMA to launch inaugural Vacation Rental Week in March

US: The Vacation Rental Management Association (VRMA) has announced that the first annual Vacation Rental Week will take place in March 2020.

The association has created the week with the intention of recognising and promoting the value and benefits of the vacation rental industry.

VRMA executive director Mike Copps said: “Vacation rentals provide consumers with options for more personalised, economical travel experiences.

“With programmes such as Vacation Rental Week, VRMA is showcasing the opportunities that professionally managed vacation rentals create for travellers, property owners and local economies,” he added.

The analytics and advisory company Gallup recently published a poll showing that 62 per cent of Americans have taken a vacation away from home in the past year. Despite this, many consumers are still unaware of the value, convenience and reliability of professionally managed vacation rentals.

Vacation Rental Week will raise the awareness of consumers, property owners and policymakers about the benefits of vacation rentals.

The inaugural event will kick off on 9 March before concluding on 13 March 2020. In addition, special activities are planned to highlight a different aspect of the industry each day.

Copps said: “Professionally managed vacation rentals are significant sources of income for property owners, key contributors to job creation, and drivers of strong, stable real estate markets and local economies.

“Vacation Rental Week will provide another tool for educating consumers and key stakeholders about the benefits of vacation rentals in 2020, and well beyond,” he added.
