US: Activity provider for the vacation rental industry, Xplorie, has partnered with Data Point Partners to develop a tours and activities eCommerce platform to power the firm’s rapidly growing number of complimentary activity programmes.
The latest tech platform will feature integrations with leading reservation management systems and aims to deliver an efficient user experience for the Florida-based firm’s customers, while enabling its property management partners to deliver a more personalised guest experience.
Xplorie president and CEO, Matthew Loney, said: “Further automation is crucial in order to meet the increasing demand for our complimentary activity programmes by property managers, guests, and local activity providers.
“With return on experience becoming a critical metric within the vacation rental industry, our new platform will ensure that our clients not only continue to meet guest expectations but exceed them in ways previously not envisioned,” he added.
Kevin McLaughlin, the former CEO and co-founder of Smart Destinations, is leading the design and strategy vision for the platform, while former CTO Matt Higgins will take charge of engineering and development to work on the project.
Data Point Partners co-founder Kevin McLaughlin said: “In an industry where most distributors’ products are indistinguishable, Xplorie’s business model of providing complimentary activities is truly unique, but what I think is going to surprise people is how this technology will allow Xplorie to expand its business model into other verticals and business opportunities perhaps previously unavailable.
“We are excited to have been chosen to lead this development and to join an incredible team that is working to reimagine the vacation experience,” he added.
