ShortTermRentalz pre-Christmas charity day at GuestReady
UK: Last week, ShortTermRentalz news editor Paul Stevens was invited to the GuestReady HQ in London to spend one working day alongside the team as part of International Hospitality Media’s pre-Christmas charity initiative raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
At the start of the day, I was introduced to CEO Alex Limpert, PR and marketing manager, Wiets Helwig, and senior account manager John Severino who outlined the work they are doing on a daily basis and introduced me to all of the members of the team in their office.
Throughout the day, I had the opportunity to view GuestReady’s dashboard to gain an understanding of the basics of property management and the work that goes into making operations across hundreds of properties successful.
Putting my editorial skills to the test, I was also given a sneak preview of GuestReady’s new B2C guest brochure, which is soon to be officially released across the company’s various channels. This emphasised how much of a role everyone in the team plays to provide accurate statistics and find the best wording that goes into writing a brochure of this kind and the completed version is set to go live very shortly.
The charity day ended on a high note as I was taken along to a greeting and cleaning check of a property prior to the guests’ arrival by operations associate Ryan.
For guests’ wishes to be satisfied on arrival, Ryan had to check every aspect of the property meticulously to see if everything was in working order. If devices or facilities were not working to the desired standard, he went onto the BnBLord [which GuestReady acquired earlier this year] app to test each part and instructions were then sent to other members of the check teams to ensure that errors or breakages could be swiftly corrected.
Looking back, it was a successful and insightful day gaining a different perspective into the short-term rental industry and I would like to thank GuestReady for inviting me into their office and donating so generously to a worthy cause in the shape of Alzheimer’s Research UK.
