US: Expedia Group has announced a change to the One Key loyalty programme that will impact Vrbo users from 22 May 2025.

Under the revised terms, One KeyCash earn rates for eligible Vrbo bookings will vary by tier status. Platinum and Gold members will continue to earn 2%, while Silver members will earn 1%. Blue members, however, will no longer earn One KeyCash on Vrbo bookings. There are no changes to the way One KeyCash is earned on Expedia, or how it is redeemed across platforms.

Expedia said the update aligns One Key benefits more closely with member status, but allows users to continue using earned cash across Expedia Group brands as before.

The company added that no action is needed from account holders at this time.

Key takeaways:

  • Vrbo loyalty rewards are changing from 22 May 2025, with One KeyCash earn rates now linked to membership tiers. Platinum and Gold members retain 2% earnings, while Blue members lose access to One Key rewards on Vrbo.

  • The update signals Expedia Group’s shift towards rewarding high-tier loyalty members, which may influence booking behaviours and impact host visibility on Vrbo compared to rival platforms like Airbnb.
