Wander acquires Maple team to expand WanderOS platform

US: Vacation rental marketplace and technology provider Wander has acquired the team behind family organisation app Maple as it seeks to expand its direct booking platform for property managers.

Maple founders Michael Perry and Mike Taylor will join Wander alongside the company’s wider team. Perry has been appointed vice president of product, while Wander has not disclosed Taylor’s new title.

Perry and Taylor previously founded marketing automation platform Kit, which Shopify acquired in 2016. They subsequently held senior roles at the ecommerce company before leaving in 2020 to establish Maple.

Wander said the appointments would support the development of WanderOS, its technology platform providing property managers with direct booking websites, guest marketing tools and distribution capabilities.

Wander founder and CEO John Andrew Entwistle said: “Their experience during Shopify’s hypergrowth era is exactly what Wander needs as we become the backbone for how travel operators grow their businesses and travellers book trips.”

Perry said: “At Shopify, I built products for merchants. At Maple, I built products for families. Now at Wander, I get to do both.”

The transaction represents an acquisition of Maple’s team, rather than a conventional purchase of the app or its wider business. Wander did not disclose the financial terms of the deal, the number of Maple employees joining the company or the future of the Maple platform.

Founded in 2021, Wander operates a curated vacation rental marketplace alongside WanderOS. In May 2025, the company raised $50 million in a Series B funding round led by QED Investors and Fifth Wall, bringing its total equity funding to more than $100 million.
