US: New updates announced via the Airbnb Newsroom show the platform continuing its expansion into wider travel services, experiences and AI-powered trip planning tools.
Airbnb has unveiled a major summer product update introducing airport transfers, grocery delivery, luggage storage, car hire and boutique hotels as it continues positioning itself as a broader travel platform beyond short-term rentals.
The company said the new features are designed to improve every stage of the guest journey, from arrival through to checkout.
Airport pickups are now available in more than 160 cities through a partnership with Welcome Pickups, while grocery delivery launches in selected US cities via Instacart. Guests will also be able to book luggage storage through Bounce and hire rental cars directly within the Airbnb app later this summer.
Airbnb is also expanding its Experiences offering, adding thousands of new activities focused on landmarks, food culture and major global events, including exclusive FIFA World Cup 2026 experiences across six host cities.
Alongside homes and experiences, the platform is introducing boutique and independent hotels across destinations including London, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Singapore and New York. Airbnb said each hotel has been selected based on design, location and hospitality standards rather than brand affiliation.
The company also announced several AI-powered app upgrades, including review summaries, property comparison tools and expanded AI customer support.
