US: The directors of The Book Direct Show and Destinationaire Awards have announced that they will be joining forces to host a collaborative two-day event in Miami in October 2022.
Due to popular demand, The Book Direct Show will move to the United States in 2022 for its fourth edition and a two-day conference to be held in Miami, Florida, on 18-19 October. The event is the first of its kind that is dedicated to short-term rental property managers and direct booking education.
The showcase conference will be followed by a day of in depth workshops – all uniquely focused on helping property managers to learn the most actionable ways of generating direct bookings and reducing their reliance on the “dominant” global online travel agents and listing sites.
The hybrid event will again provide online access to a series of online video presentations and the main conference sessions.
Damian Sheridan, director of The Book Direct Show, said: “We’re thrilled to announce this collaboration for 2022 withWil Slickers and the Destinationaire Awards team. The Book Direct Show will now not only provide the best #BookDirect education on the conference calendar, but, in conjunction with this unique awards ceremony, will also recognise the outstanding hospitality providers in our industry.”
The Destinationaire Awards launched in 2020 as a way to highlight professionals and companies in the early days of the pandemic that were pushing the short-term rental industry forward, while delivering exceptional service to their guests and teams. The term “Destinationaire” was coined to refer to people who are “wired to create remarkable experiences that are anticipated and shared”.
Wil Slickers, creator of the Destinationaire Awards, said: “This partnership / collaboration pretty much started in 2020 at the Shortyz Awards and I knew that at some point in the future, Damian Sheridan and I would team up to do something great for the industry like this. I am proud of this collaboration and whats to come from this powerful event.”
For 2022, in partnership with the Book Direct Show, the Destinationaire Awards will now come under the recently-launched Hospitality.FM brand, founded by Slickers, who also hosts Slick Talk: The Hospitality Podcast and co-hosts Good Morning Hospitality.
