eviivo acquires Expedia Group’s software tools for North American expansion plan

London: The leading independent hotels and B&B online booking specialist, eviivo, has announced its acquisition of software tools, RezOvation and Webervations, owned by HomeAway® brand BedandBreakfast.com, part of Expedia Group.

With this purchase, customers of these travel management tools will now have access to eviivo’s award-winning booking management platform. The London-based company will accelerate its progress in the United States and Canada by acquiring established brands, with an existing customer base of innkeepers and accommodation providers.

Furthermore, RezOvation and Webervations customers will continue to work closely with HomeAway and Expedia Group to market their properties, due to eviivo’s status as an existing preferred partner of both channels, and benefit from the direct connection to new distribution partners.

An upgraded version of eviivo suite™ – eviivo’s leading booking and channel management platform for the North American market – will also be launched and will include improved features for RezOvation and Webervations customers. The platform is used by more than 12,000 independent accommodation providers worldwide, and provides an efficient means of managing guests, bookings and travel agencies.

The all-in-one upgrade will include a booking calendar, effective booking management and guest messaging tools, a responsive website and booking engine, integrated PCI-Compliant card processing, and a channel manager offering connections to travel brands such as HomeAway, BedandBreakfast.com and Expedia Partner Solutions.

The eviivo suite™ will be delivered in the cloud, to ensure affordability and allow innkeepers and accommodation providers to compete with larger hotel chains.

Existing Webervations and RezOvation customers will be able to register for the service upgrade from 20 October, with the programme expected to be fully functional by early 2019. All customers will be contacted individually in the coming weeks and invited to an introduction session, followed by a webinar training programme.

Michele Fitzpatrick, CEO of eviivo, said: “eviivo has been a partner of Expedia Groups for many years, so this is another building block in a great relationship. We were first to market a full content API with Expedia Group, and have launched innovative on-boarding processes and technologies together.

“We believe that eviivo suite™ will prove to be an excellent fit to the needs of Webervations and RezOvation customers, whilst deep integration with all major travel brands will help them increase their booking volumes,” he added.

Ryan Hutchings, general manager of BedandBreakfast.com, said: “HomeAway is the place to book cabins, beach homes, condos and everything in between, and software and tools for innkeeper customers represent a small part of our overall business.

“eviivo are uniquely focused on bed and breakfasts, innkeepers, small hotels and independent hosts, and understand their needs deeply, making eviivo suite™ the ideal partner for Webervations and RezOvation users.

“This transaction will help us focus on helping travellers find the perfect place to stay for every trip, and generate more bookings for innkeepers, owners and managers, across our many vacation rental brands,” he added.
