Barcelona: In its fourth consecutive year, the VrTech Startup Competition sponsored by Rentals United and Howzat Partners, aims to bring the most innovative young startups in the vacation rental industry into the limelight.
This year’s three finalists have been announced and the competition will move on to the final round at the Vacation Rental World Summit on 10-11 October 2020.
The VrTech Startup Competition aims to showcase young tech companies creating innovative solutions for the vacation rental industry.
This year’s contestants covered a wide array of tech innovations: check-in app, guest screening, chatbot concierge, review aggregator, checkout engine, referral network, risk prevention solution, wifi data collection, housekeeping software, TV and tablet concierge, home automation, investment platform, property management system, peer to peer marketplace, services marketplace, distribution network and business intelligence.
From a total of 19 participating startups, three finalists were chosen by different sets of judges:
“Finalist: Revyoos, chosen by a jury of property managers, is the only all-in-one review aggregator for short-term rentals. The easy-to-use platform helps property managers and owners improve their SEO, credibility and conversions by gathering all their reviews spread across different channels in one place. Their scalable, cloud-only technology allows businesses of different sizes to make the most out of invaluable social proof.”
“Finalist: Domo by Ki, chosen by a jury of experts and investors, is revolutionising in-room / house guest experience by offering an innovative digital approach to entertainment and concierge services upselling. With the help of cutting-edge technology on TV and tablets, guests can book a chauffeur, order food or watch TV channels and streaming services. Domo also provides keyless entry with a unique check-in code for each guest and controls all compatible smart home devices.”
“Finalist: Check-in Scan, chosen by the general public, is a guest registration app that lets property managers quickly scan in their guests’ photo IDs and send them to the police for security checks. It’s a fast and easy way to automate your check-in process and meet all legal requirements. The app helps to work with the new tourism rental laws that require property managers to collect guests’ details and obtain their signatures for the “parte entrada de viajeros“.”
The three finalists will present their business in front of property managers and owners at the Vacation Rental World Summit. The crowd will then decide who takes home the award.
Last year’s winner, Michael Driedger, CEO of Operto, said: “The VrTech Award allows for amazing industry recognition and many new partners and friendships.”
