US: Hospitable has launched automated lodging tax compliance across all 50 US states, becoming the first property management system to automate the registration, calculation, filing and remittance of lodging taxes nationwide.

The capability is designed to remove one of the biggest administrative burdens facing short-term rental hosts and property managers, particularly those managing bookings outside online travel agency platforms.

While platforms such as Airbnb collect and remit lodging taxes in many jurisdictions, operators accepting direct bookings or using multiple distribution channels are often responsible for managing tax compliance themselves.

Hospitable said its new system automates the entire process, helping hosts navigate varying state, county and municipal tax requirements without manually tracking registrations, filing deadlines or changing regulations.

The company said the launch reflects demand for operational tools that support scaling businesses as short-term rental operators expand across multiple markets and booking channels.

With the addition of nationwide US coverage, Hospitable now offers automated lodging tax compliance across three major markets: the United States, the UK and Australia.

Since introducing its tax compliance capabilities, the company said it has remitted more than $4.5 million in lodging taxes on behalf of hosts.

Pierre-Camille Hamana, founder and CEO of Hospitable, said operators should not have to become tax experts to grow their businesses, adding that the company aims to remove one of the industry’s most complex operational challenges.
