Kasa to manage first boutique hotel in San Francisco’s Castro District

US: Real estate developer Postcard Properties has announced a partnership with flexible accommodation provider Kasa to manage Hotel Castro, a boutique hotel in San Francisco’s Castro District opening in June 2021.

Postcard Properties has designed a newly constructed 12-room hotel in the Castro District of San Francisco. It will feature a rooftop lounge, private guest room balconies, and a Lobby Bar from the team behind Hi Tops – a local bar.

“Everything about this project is influenced by the Castro’s storied history,” said Gannon Tidwell, managing partner at Postcard Properties. “It’s the inspiration behind the architecture, the decor, and we will be working with members of the community as much as possible to bring the experience together.”

Kasa will bring its virtual service model to Hotel Castro, using proprietary technology to give guests full access to check-in, check-out, housekeeping, room service and other hotel amenities through digital channels. This will allow the hotelโ€™s staff to offer 24/7 service whilst respecting the privacy of guests.

“We look forward to using all the tools at Kasa’s disposalโ€”our technology, our experience, our local rootsโ€”to offer guests unique moments at this beautiful property,” said Mike Millas, senior director of strategic finance at Kasa. “The Hotel Castro is an exciting expansion of our boutique hotel management platform, and we’re thrilled to bring our distinct vision of world-class hospitality to this world-class neighbourhood.”

Kasa offers accommodations in more than 40 markets nationwide, including San Francisco where the company is headquartered. Kasa partners with property owners to transform multifamily and boutique properties into fully managed units.

Late last year, Kasa raised ยฃ30m in a Series B funding round. The company is planning to accelerate investment in proprietary technology, building on its existing suite of products and systems to manage units across various property sizes and locations.

Postcard Properties, also based in San Francisco, invests in real estate throughout California. Its portfolio consists of lifestyle assets and the company has acquired and manage several projects including residential, office, mixed-use and hospitality.
