US: Hotel and apart-hotel operator Kasa has entered into a strategic combination with premium residential hospitality operator Mint House, expanding its footprint in the US flexible accommodation market and adding nearly 1,000 units to its managed portfolio.

Under the transaction, Mint House’s properties in several major US markets will be integrated into Kasa’s operating platform. The deal includes properties in New York, Washington, DC, Dallas, Nashville, St Petersburg and Tampa, further extending Kasa’s presence in high-growth urban markets.

Among the assets transferring to Kasa is Mint House at 70 Pine in Lower Manhattan, a landmark Art Deco building that includes residential accommodation alongside amenities such as a fitness centre, food and retail offerings, and Michelin-starred restaurants. The property will now operate under the Kasa brand.

Kasa said the combination is intended to create greater operational scale, supporting efficiencies across distribution, revenue management, sales and marketing, and guest engagement. The company added that the expanded portfolio is expected to strengthen its commercial capabilities while reducing operating costs across the platform.

Roman Pedan, founder and chief executive of Kasa, said the transaction would bring together the teams and capabilities of both companies under a single operating platform. He added that increased scale is expected to support improved commercial outcomes for property owners.

Kasa said it will apply its experience managing operational transitions to the Mint House portfolio. The company has completed 35 hotel and apart-hotel management transitions to date, which it said have been carried out with minimal disruption to owners and guests.

Following the integration, Mint House properties will continue to offer mobile-first check-in, round-the-clock guest communications and technology-enabled services, consistent with Kasa’s existing hotel and apart-hotel operations.

Mint House chief executive Christian Lee said the two companies were aligned in their asset-light operating models and guest-focused approach. He added that Kasa was selected for the transaction due to its operational capabilities and experience managing transitions.

As part of the deal, Lee will join Kasa as a senior advisor to support the integration process and maintain continuity for owners and partners.

Kasa said the addition of Mint House properties strengthens its platform for existing owner partners by increasing leverage on fixed costs and expanding commercial resources across a more diversified hospitality portfolio.

The transaction positions Kasa to continue scaling its flexible accommodation model across US markets as demand grows for hotel and apart-hotel stays that cater to both corporate and leisure travellers.
