Spain: Lodgify, a vacation rental management platform for independent hosts and property managers, has launched a new feature that lets hosts handle their smart locks from their devices.
Lodgify’s new smart locks feature aims to increase efficiency, security and safety by automating property access.
The company conducted a survey, published in the Lodgify 2024 vacation rental industry report, which found that 60 per cent of respondents already use smart lock technologies.
The survey also showed that most hosts adopt smart locks to improve the experience of their guests, increase convenience, and reduce the risk of lockouts and unnecessary stress when checking in.
Lodgify said that its new smart locks feature automates this process by generating a unique, randomised code for each reservation and sending it to the guest in an automated, customisable message.
Hosts should also be able to monitor battery levels and synchronisation status across all connected smart locks. This will allow them to address any issues related to guest access, cleaning, or maintenance of the property.
Lodgify COO Alex Vuilleumier said: “Check-in is an important moment in the guest experience. Guests expect a smooth and flexible arrival, and any delay or confusion can set the wrong tone for their stay.
“Lodgify Smart Locks ensures secure, hassle-free access, allowing hosts to focus on providing great hospitality and operational efficiency,” he added.
Lodgify said that its new smart locks are compatible with most keyless entry brands.
Earlier this month, the company named Shaun Shirazian as its new CEO to accelerate its next phase of growth and innovation, succeeding co-founder and former CEO, Dennis Klett, in the role. Former Typeform CEO Joaquim Lechá was also appointed as chairman.
