Minut launches in Spain and Portugal

Spain / Portugal: Property monitoring company Minut has announced that it is officially launching in Spain and Portugal.

Spain is one of the world’s leading travel destinations, and the vacation rental markets in both Spain and Portugal have been steadily growing over the past decade. That growth has especially accelerated in 2020/21, as travellers opted for the greater comfort and privacy that short-term rentals offer when compared to hotels.

With Spain being the fourth largest market for vacation rentals in the world, and Portugal undergoing a tourism boom, Minut says that it has seen a lot of organic interest from hosts and property managers in the region, and that it will help its new and existing customers protect their rental properties, enhance guest experience and grow their businesses while promoting responsible travel.

Minut CEO and co-founder, Nils Mattisson, said: “In the past two years, we’ve seen a fantastic response to our product in the US and UK markets, with hosts and property managers clearly appreciating our role in supporting responsible growth of the vacation rental industry. We’re now bringing the knowledge and experience we’ve gained to Spain and Portugal, following our mission to make short-term rental work for hosts, guests and neighbours worldwide.”

The Carpenter Jerez, a host, said: “Minut gives me the peace of mind of knowing that the travellers are enjoying the apartment responsibly, without disturbing the neighbours. And when they aren’t, I’ll be the first to know and solve it.”

Manuel López Barnés, a property manager, said: “I’m very happy with this product. The devices are easy to install and manage via the app. In addition to its value in alerting in real time, it also acts as a deterrent.”

Minut’s launch in Spain and Portugal will allow the company to bring further peace of mind to more hosts and property managers in the region. It has already partnered up with AVAEC, Rurales Data and Doinn, the latter a professional cleaning laundry and linen rental service company for short-term rentals, to make sure its reach and impact are as wide as possible.

In September, Minut announced that it was collaborating with Airbnb to launch a number of measures to support hosts and guests in Prague, including a six-month noise detector pilot programme for hosts and a dedicated ‘Good Neighbour Guide’ for guests visiting the Czech capital.
