Rented crowned winner of 2021 VRTECH Startup Competition

Barcelona: The VRTECH Startup Competition, sponsored by Rentals United and Howzat Partners, announced Rented as this year’s winner at the Vacation Rental World Summit this weekend.

The winner – Rented – provides technology, tools, and services to help vacation rental professionals optimise their portfolio of properties.

Art, its Automated Rate Tool, is said to be “the only dynamic pricing software built for and by professional short-term rental revenue managers”. With Art, property managers are empowered to set the right price for every property, with intelligent rate recommendations and easy custom adjustments.

This year’s Vacation Rental World Summit [16-17 September], held in Annecy, France, featured speakers from around the world, with the highlights being the presentations from VRTECH Startup Competition finalists Vintory, Turbosuite and Rented, and the announcement of the winner on Friday evening.

The VRTECH Startup Competition aims to showcase young tech companies creating innovative solutions for the vacation rental industry.

The vacation rental tech industry, spawned by the growth of the short-term rental market, holds many enthusiastic startups and strong innovation. This year’s contestants covered a wide array of tech innovations including guest screening, CRM, digital guidebooks, property management systems, housekeeping tools, and more.

Rented CEO Andrew McConnell said: “I cannot overstate how much this means to me, and the entire team at Rented. VRTECH in general, and Vanessa in particular, do a tremendous job keeping a pulse on the best of the best when it comes to innovation in vacation rental technology.

“To have Art, the Automated Rate Tool by Rented that is the first and only of its kind built for and by professional vacation rental managers, recognised by hundreds of our global peers as the best innovation of the year is a great vote of confidence. This is all part of our commitment to bringing the best in class technology to local managers, enabling them to also compete and win on their own stage,” he added.

Vanessa de Souza Lage, founder of VRTECH, said: “This year, Annecy provided such an incredible background for bringing the community and the startup competition back together again. We congratulate this year’s winner, Rented, and the nominees for their significant roles in shaping the startup tech world of the vacation rental industry.”

Previous year’s winners include Revyoos, Operto, Stasher and Hello Here.
