UK: Conservation charity the National Trust for Scotland has partnered with Sykes Holiday Cottages, which will handle the charity’s holiday accommodation marketing and bookings from December 2020 onwards.
From coastal cottages to castles, the National Trust for Scotland has more than 40 properties available to holidaymakers. From this week, bookings for these properties will be managed by Sykes and marketed via the Sykes website as well as www.nts.org.uk/holidays.
The Trust’s properties join the 19,500 plus holiday lets already available through Sykes, including those under its regional brands, such as Cornish Cottage Holidays, Helpful Holidays and Menai Holidays.
Connie Lovel, head of commercial enterprises and estates for the National Trust for Scotland, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to further promote the Trust’s holiday accommodation business, which brings in vital revenue for our charity. Working with Sykes, we’ll have access to a much wider market, providing high standards of customer service and online accessibility for bookings 24/7, 365 days a year. This partnership will introduce the amazing places and spaces we care for to a new audience to visit and experience and, by working with experts in the field, we’ll be freeing up our own resources to focus on our charity’s most important work – protecting Scotland’s heritage.”
Sykes Holiday Cottages’ CEO, Graham Donoghue, added: “This type of partnership is key as we look to build out our property portfolio. The National Trust for Scotland does great work and we’re really pleased to make these places of historic interest and natural beauty available to more than a million Sykes customers a year. As well as helping holidaymakers discover what there is to see and do north of the border, we’re also playing a small part in preserving Scotland’s heritage sites. Being a Scot myself, I am particularly proud to showcase the wonders of Scotland.”
